My stay at Owl n Hare was truly magical. I brought a group of friends out to Joshua Tree to celebrate my birthday and we couldn’t have asked for a better location for the festivities. Everyone remarked on how awesome the property was upon arrival, and that sentiment didn’t change throughout our weekend together. 10/10 would recommend.

From the moment we arrived at the Owl and Hare, we knew we were in for a special experience. Nestled amidst the iconic Joshua Tree landscape, the house radiates a sense of peace and tranquility, making it an ideal weekend getaway from Los Angeles. The attention to detail in this property is second to none. Upscale furnishings create a luxurious yet cozy atmosphere, offering all the comforts of home with an added touch of elegance. But as stunning as the interiors are, the outdoor amenities truly steal the show. The pool provided hours of relaxation, allowing us to float and gaze at the expansive desert views. Speaking of which, the nighttime views are nothing short of spectacular. Can't wait to return!

Gorgeous, modern, clean, fully stocked compound right in the middle of the Joshua Tree desert. Talk about out in the wild at its finest. Definitely off the grid, but close to civilization and the downtown Joshua Tree restaurants & stores. I highly recommend having a 4X4 truck to access this house, it’s off a dirt road like most of this town. The pool was very well kept and perfect for getting a real desert tan.

This home is AMAZING! It’s separate homes on one property! There is so much space, perfect for a group of friends or personal time. The home itself was exactly like the pictures. It was clean and nicely organized. The beds were sooooo comfy! The pool and hot tub were clean and regularly maintained. They had plenty of games. The kitchens were spacious and had plenty of tools. Overall 10000/10 experience.

The kitchen had all of the utensils we needed! Amazed by the appliances as well as having two houses so close to one another. There were some bugs, lizards and bats at times but nothing without being said being close to the Joshua tree park. There were coyote at night but overall a LOVELY retreat.

Beautiful home with artful furniture, high quality beds, and thoughtful touches throughout. The property was immaculate and well suited to the sparse desert landscape with incredible views. Pool was a welcome oasis for our family of 6. Kitchen has everything needed for breakfast, lunch and dinner - new appliances were a pleasure to use. Incredible location minutes outside of Joshua Tree NP. Highly recommend and plan to return.

very much enjoyed our stay at this property. would definitely recommend! even on the hot day, the house was easily kept to a perfect temperature. there was plenty to do. although we didn’t get to enjoy everything the house offered because we were so occupied by the pool and enjoying the beautiful nature, there was a ton of activities to do around the house. the hosts made the stay a million times easier. everything was already stated in the instructions given, but they never hesitated to answer questions within minutes. stay here, and enjoy! ????

Our stay at the Owl & Hare compound was everything I hoped it would be. If you love being a little secluded and having plenty of space for your guests to roam around and enjoy nature, this is the spot for you! At the same time it was nice being off the main road and close to the park which made it super convenient, as our group hopped over there just as the sun was setting to take in the magic that is Joshua Tree. We also really loved coming back and enjoying the fire pit while gazing up at the Milky Way and desert sky. The house is gorgeous with lots of windows and perfectly decorated and stocked with whatever you need. It was really great that each room had its own bathroom. We loved the two kitchens too, and the pool was a definite highlight! I have already recommended this place to friends and family and would definitely come back again.

This property is the dream. We had everything we needed for a desert retreat - pool, hot tub, fire pit, hammock, and much more. The two suites set up gave us separation and space to work remotely during the week. The location is amazing, too - a short drive to the national park entrance as well as the restaurants/grocery stores in JT and Yucca Valley. We'll definitely come back again!

This was a fantastic spot for our family of 8. Everyone had their own space to rest and relax. 15min drive to Joshua Tree meant we had some great hikes. The pool is perfectly located. We had a fantastic stay at the Owl & Hare. The hosts were super helpful and responsive - I had several questions in the weeks leading up to the reservation dates and the hosts always responded quickly and kindly. So pleased we found this spot - the spacious kitchen was great for our group, and all of the bedrooms were beautiful. This was the absolute best airbnb we've ever stayed at. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property for anyone traveling to Joshua Tree. We were 2 families traveling together and the 2 separate houses were perfect for our group. The houses are beautiful, minimalist and comfortable, but also remodeled in a luxurious and modern way. We absolutely loved the very comfortable beds and parachute linens (I might just buy some now!). And the best part---the views from every single place on the property are just amazing, whether inside the house or sitting outside. There is great communal space between the houses and also several quiet spaces to sit quietly and enjoy the surroundings. We loved the pool (as did our kids) and the hot tub, and we played lots of ping pong. We cooked all our meals in the house and the kitchen had absolutely everything we could need- they thought of everything! The location was perfect- close to the park and town, but also very private!

This home is UNREAL. You can tell so much thought went into every detail, and the details are stunning. The airstream was an added bonus as a pool house, the hot tub is awesome, the view from the pool is amazing. They had a guitar and record player and all sorts out outdoor games to play at this compound, its huge! Definitely would stay again, homestead modern is so attentive and professional to the needs of the guest, they really go above and beyond. 5 stars, would do more if i could!

Amazing lil compound in the heart of joshua tree, just a short way outside of the park. This property was clean, cute, and well maintained. There's a ton of land to walk around on and enjoy the scenery and different zones where you can sit and enjoy the outdoors- including an airstream a bit further down the property. Owl and Hare is magical. We went for my brother's birthday and hiked all over JT and came home to a thoughtful, extremely clean and well appointed home. It was a perfect set up because of the two houses on the property, connected by a breezeway. I cannot wait to come back. A little pricey (our weekend, I know prices fluctuate), but WELL worth it and i would do it again and again with zero hesitation. the home also had a cute, cheeky vibe but not kitch or cheesy. i really appreciated the design of the home.

This was our second stay at one of Homestead Modern’s homes and as always it didn’t disappoint. They’re a very communicative company and their homes are always as pictured or better, and full of really cool thoughtful touches. This compound is great for a group (we stayed in one house with our daughter; my parents stayed in the other) and is ten minutes from both the park and the main strip. We definitely recommend it, but also just be advised that we had poor internet service across the whole compound, which made it hard to work remotely. Hopefully that’s something the host company can enhance for future stays; it’s obviously something that’s not entirely in their hands. Otherwise the compound is incredible and we really recommend it!

Great property with amazing views. A true Joshua Tree landscape! Thoughtfully designed with privacy in mind so even though there are neighbors you don’t see them. Nice layout with 2 homes which was great for traveling with a group of 4 adults, baby, and 4 year old. The airstream was cool. Homestead Modern was very responsive and supportive. The bedding was so comfortable. The only thing I wish I had known was how bumpy the road is getting to the property. Also, cell reception isn’t great but was ok.

Pleasantly surprised! This is two houses in one property. Both have 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchens, and living rooms. Both very ample and beautifully decorated. The units include great appliances, coffee, and plenty of cooking supplies. You have neighbors but honestly the property is so big you’ll never see them. I would definitely stay here again!

We had a great time at the Owl + Hare Compound. The space is really beautiful, and there is so much to do outside - which is totally why I love to come to Joshua Tree. I booked this location because the peak of the Perseid meteor shower was the night before my birthday & we wanted to go out into the desert! I was stressed looking for places because I’m very picky & we wanted our privacy, Owl & Hare was BEYOND my expectations. The house(s) were easy to cool down during the day, & at night.. it was the most beautiful thing you could experience! We almost wanted to just sleep outside, the amount of stars you can see is incredible. I still dream of watching the moon rise while sitting in the hot tub. The rooms were all incredibly clean, & the kitchen is stocked with pans, cups & plates, utensils, etc which helped us so much since we only had to bring food. Whenever we had a question they were super quick to answer & help us. If you are debating whether or not to spend the money vs finding a cheaper place, I can promise you it’s worth it. We are already planning another trip back <3

Thank you for letting us stay at Owl & Hare. We had two couples total and never felt crowded. The space is setup perfectly for privacy. We loved the attention to detail, especially the Calphalon pots and pans! Both units stayed relatively cool in 90 degree weather without needing to turn on the mini splits. Star gazing next the fireplace was exactly what all of us needed. Looking forward to staying with Homestead again.

The place is huge and beautiful. It had everything you would need and more - tons of kitchen supplies, coffee maker + coffee, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, flashlights, and so many more things. What a beautiful spot in the desert. We had 6 people here and we were very comfortable. Every view is picture perfect, and the whole compound is definitely designed with the renter in mind. The manual/rule book is quite detailed, doesn’t leave much room for unanswered questions! The hot tub was awesome, the fire pit was great, airstream was cool, plenty of blankets for cool nights stargazing outside, lots of seating areas for hanging out, great kitchen. Not a complaint!
