Amazing Airbnb! Managed like a resort property. Could not think of a think we needed except more time there. Well supplied, super clean, comfortable beds and all the extras from slippers & robes , improper cocktails, to all the inviting outdoor spaces for both day and night. Top notch property. Perfect getaway to chill and stargaze.

This place far exceeded my expectations. This was my third time visiting Joshua Tree and I’m beyond glad I picked this place to stay at. Everything from how the place is styled to the cleanliness to the amenities provided…amazing! Definitely took advantage of the pool, the hot tub, the record player, and had a good laugh with the Wizard of Oz trick ;) I’m already planning my trip back in a few months and will certainly look for this place again. Don’t question it…just book it. Loved it!

This property was fantastic. It's no more than 15 minutes away from town if you need anything, and surprisingly private with an unobstructed view of the sunset over the horizon from anywhere in the pool/hot tub/hammock/bed/etc. There are a few neighboring homes and utilized dirt roads out the back yard, but not close enough to really matter regarding privacy. The inside of the home was very well done and the fixtures are all slick. The host was also very responsive and the check-in was just a simple code entry. Everything went swimmingly and while I expected a lot more wildlife to be venturing close, there really wasn't anything besides a few bats/moths flying about at dusk.

What an amazing place. I immediately asked who decorated because the place is impeccably decorated and beautifully appointed. We had more than we needed and the outdoor space was beautiful. The pool was amazing and perfect on our 104 degree days. We barely used half of the amenities and would love to come back. Spotless, amazing communication, game changing pool situation, views for days! We are excited to come back!

everything was fantastic really. They had EVERYTHING you can even imagine on their kitchen, all the kitchen utensils you can imagine. the communication also was very fast always. the only thing is that we checked out 20 min later and it was a really big deal for them which is usually not a problem. but still the place was just amazing. also they even sent me back the stuff that I left there.

Had a lovely and peaceful stay here for the week. Pool was main selling point and did not disappoint. Huge, refreshing, salt water, and the Views out there are amazing. Very private and quiet neighborhood as well..very little activity up there which was exactly what I was hoping for. Love that there are so many different spots to relax and lounge outside. The extra amenities and offerings also made for a special stay. Been to many Joshua tree Airbnbs over the years and this is definitely my favorite so far!

One of the best experiences we´ve had in an Airbnb! The house is super fun, and the location is surreal. We have enjoyed everything, from the amazing vinyl collection (lots of new music discovered, and also lots of classics), to the cool ambiance lighting, the pool, the view, the night sky with a few shooting stars, the outdoors shower, the fully equipped kitchen. I mean... We were happily impressed with the experience. We could´ve easily stayed a whole week there. Amazing.

I would put 10 stars if it was possible. The responsiveness, the home, the location. Everything went above and beyond expectations. I can only recommend going to any of their locations: I am certain it will live up to the listing. My only feedback is that the price to get the pool heated is horrendous. I would have appreciated a “packaged price” seeing that we stayed for a week. But it didn’t stain our stay. I will be back next year!

While we absolutely love the suggestions of 10 stars, we would also like to reply about the pool heating fees. We only charge to keep the pool heated during months with cooler overnight temperatures since it consumes a tremendous amount of energy. We do keep the pool heated to 85 degrees at - no additional cost - beginning May 1st. Having said that, please come back next year! We really appreciated having you stay!

The host was pretty slow to respond about the heat not working and they never addressed the record player. We went 24 hours without heat in one bedroom/living room/kitchen/bathroom. The second day they immediately got an HVAC company out and it turned out all 3 split systems need to be on the same mode in order to work, but 2 of the remotes weren’t working. This seems like something that they should have known and is going to be a constant problem with the systems and the universal hvac remotes. Even after the hvac person came the both bedroom’s heat didn’t work very good. For a large property manager it doesn’t seem like they really have it together. The day of arrival we sent a couple of messages that were intentionally ignored and didn’t get checkout instructions until the day of departure after checked out.

As soon as we became aware, we scheduled a repair for that. Unfortunately it was not something that could be fixed during your stay. Our response time to your initial inquiry about the HVAC was about one minute. We were also able to speak with you by voice in less than 30 minutes from your initial request for a call. We had a technician out before midday the next day and it was resolved for your stay. Checkout instructions were sent by 7am on the day of checkout. We are looking at having those sent the night before. Luckily for you, the only real necessity was to lock up and drive safe! Thanks again for the feedback!

Let me start by saying the Homestead Modern home is an excellent get away spot. If you want to be surrounded by the beauty of the desert and stay in a lovely home, you found it with this place. This is one of the best air bnbs I have ever stayed. The property is really fun, beautifully decorated, clean and full of everything you need for your stay. You will need a large suv or pickup to get there, the road up to the property is sandy and bumpy, we had to swap our hire mustang for a sliverardo. The pool is lovely and sunset in the hot tub is perfect. We took advantage of the fire pits and had s’mores most evenings. Be aware that the neighbours dogs like to visit, there a 3 large dogs, they didn’t come across friendly so whenever they visited the property we stayed inside until they left. This is the only safety concern I had whilst staying here. As other reviews have mentioned, you are not as secluded as the images make out. The air bnb opposite is a party house and has loud screaming and music most days and evenings. It’s only a 20 min drive to Yucca Valley and an hour to Palm Springs. The views from the property are beautiful. The communication was amazing, we struggled to light the fire at first, I messaged the host and had a reply with a ton of info within minutes! Really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend!

Such a lovely home. Well designed, great layout, and great service from the homestead modern team. The house itself had a well appointed kitchen, the linens were aplenty, and the record collection was incredible. The HM service team was really wonderful, and responded very quickly to any questions we had about the space or the surrounding area. Tip: If you’re renting a car, I do recommend a compact SUV or like… a Suburu wagon haha. The back roads to get to the house are rough, and while our little Jetta did the trick, I think a higher clearance vehicle would have been nice.

A perfect getaway near Joshua Tree park. JTImproper has everything you need and is nestled a short drive up into the hills outside of the heart of Joshua Tree. It’s a 20-25 minute drive into the heart of the park through multiple entry points and the view of the area at night is mind blowing. The setting is great and the amenities are as well, in particular the pool is ? and makes staying in the high desert that much better. The hot tub and stargazing deck were a must every night and the kitchen and grill were just right for our needs. The team at Homestead Modern was incredibly helpful and responsive. As an aside, we were originally scheduled to stay at a different HM property, but were contacted by the staff as soon as they were informed that the power company would be doing work that resulted in an extended outage at the original location. They gave us multiple options to resolve the situation and turned what easily could have been a negative into a positive. Pros - The Pool!!! - The property layout - The sound system and portable speaker for outdoors - The views and stargazing Cons - neither is actually a negative, just things to know. - there are a few other properties within earshot so would give it a 7/10 on being “remote” - the road up to the property is a not paved all the way so a car with some clearance is helpful All in all JTImproper is an amazing place to stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to book this property again!

This might just be the coolest Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. This house is incredible and they really thought of every detail to make our stay perfect! The only thing I would say is I thought the property might be more secluded or maybe blocked from view of the neighbors but it really wasn’t bad at all! And definitely less crowded than my neighborhood ? The pool, jacuzzi, and fire pits were absolutely perfect and ultimately appreciated that there weren’t any fences to block the view of the landscape. This is a fantastic AirBNB. The location was ideal for us; close enough to the Joshua Tree village yet remote enough to feel like you're far from civilization. The house is lovely and small. It's wonderfully decorated and the colored lights and disco ball are a fun treat. The turntable and vinyl records are a super fun touch. The main communal room is a kitchen, dining room and living room all in one. It's servicable for 2-3 people but 4+ would feel crowded to me. The real star of the property is the grounds. The heated saltwater pool is awesome. The jacuzzi deck with fire pit and big comfy couch for stargazing is amazing. The stargazing here is incredible. The only slight negative is that there's only 1 bathroom which is located across from the guest bedroom. We went with our son, so with 3 of us it was fine. But a nice in-suite bathroom in the master would be the first thing I would add if I owned this place. The host management company couldn't have been more responsive and easy to communicate with. Thank you for making this so easy for us. Overall, we loved this rental and will stay there again.

What an extravagant home! It was too cold during our stay to utilize the pool and hot tub but the interior is more than worth it. All of the minute details really come together in a special way. Also a great spot for our doggo to roam (on leash), I did hear coyotes at night. Don’t pass on this one.

We had a magical time at this gorgeous home. The grounds are so unique, so much wide open space. We saw some truly stunning sunsets and gorgeous stargazing. For rockhounds, there's tons of quartz and other minerals all over the property. An excellent spot if you're looking to connect with nature. The house itself is small but the bedrooms are huge and the outdoor space makes it feel huge. All the details in the house were so well thought out, from the weird fun decor to the record collections and even thoughtful touches like makeup removing wipes in the bathroom. Our dog had a blast on this property, though we always kept a close watch on her since we heard a lot of coyotes (thankfully no snakes in the winter). You really don't need much staying here, I found myself waking up early every day just to see the sunrise.

What a wonderful property! It was everything we hoped for and expected. Great value for the level/quality of home. There were a lot of other places in the Joshua Tree area that we were looking at and this one happened to check a few more boxes than the others…namely price! When you make a decision based on affordability for your vacation you always run the risk of ending up with a disappointment but JT Improper did not let us down. Wonderfully luxurious, private and cozy. We hope to stay here again the next time we need to “squeegie our third-eye” and relax in the beautiful desert landscape of Joshua Tree. Thank you so much for the great times we had!! Also…LOVE LOVE LOVE having a reverse osmosis drinking water spigot in the kitchen. We stay at a lot of high end vacation rental properties and this is the first time we’ve seen an RO system. So so so nice. It’s those type of details that really make it an A+ rental.

This is one of the most amazing airbnbs we've stayed in. Everything about this place is wonderful and you can really tell that so much thought has gone into creating this, from the use of colours and materials to all of the amenities and spaces. The location is incredible - isolated yet only a short drive to shops. The mezcal poloma kits on arrival, as well waffle iron and mix were an excellent touch. There are so many amazing areas that have been crafted here - obviously the pool is incredible, but there's also the fire pits, hot tub, barbecue, corn hole, tetherball... We were fortunate enough to experience a (rare) thunderstorm during our stay and it was one of the most amazing moments. The desert became truly alive under incredibly dramatic skies, the scent of the creosote bushes being fed by the rain hung in the air for hours after. Magical. Can't wait to return!

Great place spacious and both the pool and hot tub were amazing. The water in pool was perfect temperature and chlorine free. We did had to run back in the house once when we saw a snake outside but he was gone after we turned off the heat outside. Overall a great place and worth the price.

Such a fun, unique, groovy, magical place! Awesome location. Views for days. Definitely get the camera out for pics and DONT forget to shower outdoors. Nothing quite the being naked in the quiet desert watching the sunset or sunrise with the heat of the sun and coolness of the water. They have super fun games, a dope collection of records to play and some treats to enjoy. The road to the house is dirt however very easy to travel on. We also booked a sound bath we leyah only 15 min away from which was gorgeous!

Wow. Went here on a solo trip to get my head right/write strategy while on a business trip and was floored by how amazing it was. The pool, location and amenities were second to none. Book this, don’t even keep looking. The little touches were great- tons of surprises around the house and sound system was the best. I will book with them again!

Such a magical special place. They really though of everything that you need. The sunsets here are out of this word. We laid in the pool by the day and hot tub with the fire pit at night. What made it even special was able to bring our dog with us. Don’t miss out on this awesome location. We’re def coming back that’s for sure!

Absolutely beautiful, unique property. Having a private pool in the hot Joshua Tree weather is amazing, especially with the expansive view! Watching the sunset from the pool was an unexpected highlight. The house decorations are fun, with little adventures to find along the way, and the wifi was strong enough for two people to work remotely and join several large zoom calls without any issues. Homestead Modern did a wonderful job communicating and providing a warm welcome that made us feel special.
