Homestead Modern No 1 in Pioneertown Ft In Dwell

The Homestead Modern property is beautiful. Attention to detail was evident from the construction to the stylish decor. A very peaceful spot to unwind and a very short walk or drive to the fun that Pioneertown and Pappy & Harriet’s provides. Would definitely stay again if we’re in the area!

Enjoyed our recent stay over the Labor Day weekend. The home is very walkable to Mane St of Pioneertown and the delicious bbq at Pappy & Harriet’s. It was also fairly easy to find with the directions provided (our gps wanted to take us a longer way). Other things we liked about the home: dog friendly; back patio is a great setup with the fire pit, lounge chairs, and grill; the hot tub was nice; and the outdoor showers and separate casita with a bathroom were convenient. We also enjoyed the beautiful sunsets at night and stargazing from the hot tub. Only negative was the cowboy pool wasn’t what we expected and the plug didn’t work very well. Otherwise, we had a nice stay. We also recommended this home to a friend who’s looking to visit the area this fall (the casita is great for a teen). Tip: Enter the home from the sliding glass doors in the back! There’s a tiny entrance sign at the front pointing the way. (We missed this initially and had trouble finding our way inside.)

Homestead No. 1 was amazing. The photos don't do justice. The space is great and was perfect size for me and my friend. We were able to have privacy (since the 2nd room is in it's own little casita) and all the amenities were well though through. The kitchen had all the utensils I needed to cook meals. The neighbors are far away enough that you really get some privacy. The hosts were very informative and responsive. I love that they use an app that has all the instructions for accessing the space, wifi, etc. The wifi was also good! Both my friend and I worked on some days of the week and video calls worked excellently. I've already recommended this exact home to others! I would def stay here again and excited to check out other Homestead properties as well!

Modern well-designed home in high-desert setting. The interior and exterior are in a sleek modern style that fits with the surroundings. Beautiful outdoor spaces that are private but have a view of the nearby hills. Furnished indoor and out with modern accessories. The stars at night are incredible and you can view them from the hot tub. Every detail is well-thought-out, from the landscaping with native plants to the kitchen appliances.

Had a really peaceful and relaxing stay. The property was clean and had great style. It was a short .3 mile walk to Pappy and Harriet’s(bring a flash light if you walk into pioneer town at night). Tons of jackrabbits and roadrunners to watch and the stars at night were amazing. The air conditioning kept up with the triple digit heat and all appliances were new and stylish. I’ll definitely stay here again if I’m ever up again.

The absolute BEST place to stay in Pioneer Town, from walking to Red Dog Saloon for the best vegan breakfast tacos to having an evening drink at Pappy & Harriet’s then finishing off the night in the amazing hot tub. We also had the most active wildlife views I’ve ever experienced while staying in the area. I can’t wait to stay here again. Also, double points for providing a humidifier!

Beautiful little home and near by great hiking spots, restaurants, bars and an epic music venue. It was very relaxing soaking in the hot tub and watching the sunset over the rocky hills that surround the area. The 2 small houses were clean and set up well for multiple people. Perfect place to kick back on the huge patio and bbq with loved ones. I will definitely visit this location again.

Homestead Modern was fabulous. Nothing less than perfection. From the space to the design to the surroundings, it was easy, beautiful and peaceful. Wonderful house. It's very thoughtfully decorated and set up. I had a daddy/daughter weekend and my teen daughter loved having her own casita at night. Easy access to the national park (we spent three full days there), and Pioneertown was a fun place for a quick visit. Loved having the Frontier Cafe at the bottom of the hill, too, as the food was excellent. We arrived at the house at night, so it was a bit difficult for us to find the house at that time. There is no cell service up there and virtually no artifical light, making it hard to really know where to go and virtually impossible to see the Homestead 1 sign, which is unlit. So I highly recommend arriving before sundown, unless you are already familiar with the Pioneertown area. Only other issue was that some construction was going on one morning next door, before 8 am. But I contacted the property manager and the rest of the trip was quiet. I would definitely stay there again!

We had an “adventure” finding the home due to our arrival after dark ( the lack of any light pollution was both our friend and foe in this regard) but once there we were not disappointed! Homestead Modern is a cool, well appointed home in a quiet location. We were able to walk to two restaurants/bars and also cooked meals in the fantastic kitchen. A short journey by car brought us to Joshua Tree National Park and some wonderful hiking. It was our first time in the High Desert and certainly not our last! Sue K

What an amazing place to spend a few days and nights. The views are amazing in every direction and the outdoor seating areas, hot tub and hang-out spaces are fantastic too. We had some very cold and unusually windy weather while we were there, so we didnt get to fully enjoy the outside areas, but the comfort of the house and peaceful vibe were fantastic despite the cold. The house is beautiful inside and out with fantastic amenities including top notch kitchen appliances and cookwear, which my wife really appreciated because she loves to cook, even when traveling. We saw live music at Pappy & Harriets while we were there, and the location and proximity to Joshua Tree and other areas are also a plus. It was a fantastic experience and a great place to stay for a few nights, but keep in mind there's not much in the area and weekdays are basically a ghost town there. If you like what you see in the pics and you want peace and quiet and beautiful views, you will not be disappointed here.

This place was truly amazing! The location was perfect and such an easy walk to both Pappy & Harriet’s and the Red Dog Saloon. Both the main home and extra apartment were spacious, clean, and very stylish. We were able to enjoy the entire property and the stargazing was incredible….both from the hammocks and the hot tub! Sunrise views of the buttes from the back patio were amazing to wake up to, and sunset relaxation by the fire pit was awesome! We had an incredible stay at this beautiful location. Desert mountain views give it a secluded feel, even though it’s walking distance to Pappy & Harriet’s, Red Dog Saloon and all of Pioneertown - so convenient! Honestly one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Loved the outdoor shower, and an indoor shower even has a window with a view. Everything was comfortable, clean and modern. What a beautiful spot. You can clearly see that the owners put thought into every single detail. Too hot? Cool down in the pool. Cold? Hot tub is for you. This place was everything we were looking for in the high dessert. We loved the hot-tub star-gazing and the fire pit. Quiet, remote, and beautifully appointed. The outdoor shower was divine. The interiors are beautiful and the bed very cozy. My husband, a professional chef, approved of the kitchen gear and had fun cooking on the 'barbi'. We had tickets to see Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters at P&H, a lovely stroll from the house to the venue. Definitely try the Red Dog Saloon for a nice cocktail and yum food. Everything about this place is pretty much perfect.

Such an amazing place! The house itself is amazing and it is the perfect location to visit Pioneertown just outside of Joshua Tree. It was the perfect experience to be out in the desert in such a comfortable place with everything you would ever need. Perfect getaway for one or two couples looking to have desert solitude with modern luxury. The host was very communicative and it has everything you would want: spacious outdoor comforts including grill lounge seats and hot tub. Although my partner and I didn't have use for the casita, it would be a great way for two couples to enjoy the property and still have privacy. I did try to use the casita to take a video call but the wifi didn't reach that far from the main house. Still it's a beautiful 2nd unit with everything anyone could ask for. A modern, cozy, all-inclusive stay near Joshua Tree! The home is cute, quiet, and has everything you need. The Main House has a great living area setup, full and stocked kitchen, great BBQ grill & fireplace with comfortable outdoor furniture. There is also a nice private patio outside the main house. The Casita house has plenty of bedroom & bathroom space. They even provide some maps of the park, games, and smores skewers. The jacuzzi is heated nicely and plenty big for 4 people. Note that the road is unpaved going off the main road in Pioneertown, but most cars should be able to handle it. Highly recommend Pappy & Harriett's while you're there - put your name down early! The drive to Joshua Tree is about 25 minutes, close enough for sure. We loved every moment of our stay!

If you’re looking for a house that feels remote, but not too far from anything this is the place. The amenities are incredible. The star gazing is beyond words. It’s close to all the things in Pioneertown without feeling like you have close neighbors. My best friend and I spent 3 days here and it was perfect. My dog loved it too, so much room for him to roam and a lot of dirt! Side not (doesn’t have tons of spiky cacti which was amazing so he didn’t get thorns in his face). Comfy beds a great kitchen a jacuzzi we used nightly. I would definitely come back here!

This house was great! My wife and I went for a reconnection weekend without our kids and we enjoyed every minute. Me and my boyfriend had such a wonderful time here. There’s so much space, perfect for 2 people. We enjoyed the jacuzzi and cowboy tub. This place is perfect for star gazing and getting away. Overall a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Only thing, the towels and blankets had one too many dog hairs and human hair. Luckily, there was a washer and dryer so we were able to wash everything pretty quickly.

JUST DO IT. I didn’t feel the need to even leave the house except to grocery shop. I do have to say the WiFi and TV are better in the little casita though and WiFi was mostly not working in the main house but I’m not upset bc it made us hangout more ?? The toilet paper roll holder kept coming off but other than that no complaints. House has everything you could possibly need from relaxing to cooking.They only have olive oil and pink salt + pepper so if you need more seasonings bring it before you come. Coffee is provided as well as a Brita and tons of icecube trays.

We loved our stay here! Had a wonderful time in Pioneertown for a wedding and our stay at Homestead Modern was perfect for our time here. Beautiful set up and location - thoughtful experiences. Would stay here again for sure.

A lovely little modern home situated in the heart of Pioneertown. Walking distance to Pappy & Harriet’s, but the home feels perfectly secluded and private. The hot tub was perfect, especially on the colder nights. The hosts responded quickly to any questions or requests and accommodated our dog coming with us. I would happily come back and recommend this place to anyone.
